Charlene Justin, MMSc, OT, PA-C has been a health care practitioner since 2003 when she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University. She worked in a variety of specialties ranging from pediatrics to upper extremity rehabilitation prior to attending Stanford University Primary Care Associate Program. As a Physician Assistant, Ms. Justin has worked in several surgical subspecialties as well as family medicine and urgent care. She currently works in academia with particular interests in simulation, medical interviewing, and the translation of these skills into the clinical curriculum. One of her fundamental goals is the promotion of academic excellence through student mentorship.
Lindsay Lyon, MPA, PA-C is an Assistant Professor at the South College PA program. She completed her physician assistant education at Eastern Virginia Medical School and graduated with a Masters of Physician Assistant degree as well as an induction into the Pi Alpha Honor Society in 2010. She practiced in orthopedic trauma for almost 10 years. She then transitioned to academia with the Wingate University PA program where she worked as an assistant professor and clinical coordinator. Her interests include orthopedics, musculoskeletal oncology, and teaching hands on skills/procedures. When not at work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys coaching and playing softball, pickleball, hiking, and camping in the beautiful WNC mountains.
Kristy Putts, MSHS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor at the Wingate University Physician Assistant Program. She earned her Master of Science in Health Science from the George Washington University Physician Assistant program in 2000. Ms. Putts practiced clinically in gastroenterology, hepatology and cardiology. She currently works in academia with particular interests in gastroenterology, hepatology, point-of- care ultrasound and student mentorship.
Jenna Rolfs, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C currently serves as the Program Director for the University of Lynchburg PA Medicine program in Lynchburg, VA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Butler University. She received her Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) from the University of Lynchburg. Dr. Rolfs has been practicing clinically as a PA since 2010. She also currently serves as the secretary on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Academy of PAs (VAPA).

Timothy Calcagni, MS, PA-C earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI and earned his Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. As an NCCPA certified Physician Assistant, he has worked in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine settings. Tim currently serves as a Principal Faculty member with the South College Asheville Physician Assistant Program in Asheville, NC. He also has prior experience precepting Physician Assistant learners and has particular interest in developing critical thinking skills in clinical decision making.
Cynthia Laux, PA-C began her career as a Physician Assistant in 2012. She spent her prior years serving various roles in agriculture, and more recently as a Research Assistant in the department of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. While maintaining clinical practice, she has held a role in PA education since 2013 and has served as full time faculty at her alma mater, Bethel University Physician Assistant Program (BUPAP), since 2016. She is currently Clinical Director and Associate Professor at BUPAP and enjoys spending her free time with her husband and 2 children.
Raquel Barreto, DMSc, PA-C graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Physician Assistant program in 2013. She is a full-time practicing clinician currently working in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Past experience includes Orthopedics and Emergency Medicine. She earned a Doctorate in Medical Science with a concentration in education from A.T Still University.
Sarah Fredrickson, PA-C is a PA with 7 years of experience. For 6 of those years, she lived and worked in Denver - where she worked as a full scope family practice PA at an FQHC. Her family recently relocated back to Michigan, where she has transitioned into the Urgent Care setting. Prior to PA school she taught 6th Grade Science and still has a passion for education. Outside of being a PA her time is mostly spent with her growing family - they currently have a 1.5 year old with number two on the way. She loves to run, ski and do anything outdoors.
Chrystyna Senkel, DMS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at Wingate University's Physician Assistant Program. She graduated from The University of Texas Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School in 1998. For 19 years post-graduation, she worked in multiple areas of medicine including Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Urgent Care, and Bariatric Surgery. She entered PA academia in 2014 at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Ft. Worth. Most recently, she taught at Lincoln Memorial University’s PA Program. There, she completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree and served as the Director of OSCE and SIM and the Director of Clinical Education. Her academic interests include exam writing, student and teacher self-assessment, OSCEs and small group activities, and everything about active learning.
